Thereshouldbenoopencircuits,thatis,noinniteresistancereadings.Theleftpickoffandright
pickoffreadingsshouldbethesameorveryclose(±5Ω).Ifthereareanyunusualreadings,repeat
thecoilresistancetestsatthesensorjunctionboxtoeliminatethepossibilityoffaultycable.The
readingsforeachcoilpairshouldmatchatbothends.
5.Testtheterminalsinthesensorjunctionboxforshortstocase.
a.Leavetheterminalblocksdisconnected.
b.Removethelidofthejunctionbox.
c.Testingoneterminalatatime,placeaDMMleadontheterminalandtheotherleadon
thesensorcase.
WiththeDMMsettoitshighestrange,thereshouldbeinniteresistanceoneachlead.If
thereisanyresistanceatall,thereisashorttocase.
6.Testtheresistanceofjunctionboxterminalpairs.
a.Testthebrownterminalagainstallotherterminalsexcepttheredone.
b.Testtheredterminalagainstallotherterminalsexceptthebrownone.
c.Testthegreenterminalagainstallotherterminalsexceptthewhiteone.
d.Testthewhiteterminalagainstallotherterminalsexceptthegreenone.
e.Testtheblueterminalagainstallotherterminalsexceptthegrayone.
f.Testthegrayterminalagainstallotherterminalsexcepttheblueone.
g.Testtheorangeterminalagainstallotherterminalsexcepttheyellowandvioletones.
h.Testtheyellowterminalagainstallotherterminalsexcepttheorangeandvioletones.
i.Testthevioletterminalagainstallotherterminalsexcepttheyellowandorangeones.
Thereshouldbeinniteresistanceforeachpair.Ifthereisanyresistanceatall,thereisashort
betweenterminals.

1.Plugtheterminalblocksintotheterminalboard.
2.Replacethetransmitterhousingcover.
3.Replacethelidonthesensorjunctionbox.
