Replacing the cell sand
(every 6 months)
The cell sand required for constant cleaning of the chlorine sensor
grinds itself down with time until it is very fine. It must therefore be re-
placed regularly. The cell sand is supplied in a plastic bottle, the cap
serves as a measure.

1. Close the ball valve on the sample water inlet (5, Fig. 20). On the
pressurised version also close the stop valve on the sample water
outlet (3, Fig. 20).
2. On the drain (4, Fig. 20) remove the drain screw and empty the cell
body (1, Fig. 20). On the pressurised version temporarily loosen a
plug or sensor to allow air to flow in.
3. When the cell body is empty, rinse the drain screw to remove the
sand and screw it in place again.
4. Remove the housing cover of the flow block assembly. To this pur-
pose press the two buttons (1, Fig. 21) on the top of the housing.
5. Unscrew the flow distributor cap (2, Fig. 20). The remaining water
drips out.
6. Rinse the sand out of the flow distributor cap.

7. Fill the cap of the cell sand bottle until it is one third full with new
cell sand and pour into the middle of the flow distributor cap (1,
Fig. 22).
8. Screw the flow distributor cap back on.
