Multifunction Electrical Tester Calibrator
Use the Leakage Current Function
57
To set the V
nominal
parameter:
1. Push the Setup softkey.
2. Use the cursor keys or rotary knob to highlight Leakage Current and either
push the Select softkey or push in the rotary knob.
3. With the cursor on Substitute nominal voltage push the Select softkey or
push in the rotary knob again to set the value.
4. Use the keypad, cursor keys, or rotary knob to change the value to the
desired voltage.
5. Push the Write softkey to store the new value. To exit without changing the
value, push Exit.
6. Push Exit repeatedly to return to the main screen.
In the Substitute leakage current function, the Product measures and shows real
(actual) test current sourced by DUT (I
d
in mA) and Touch voltage which is
between the HI and LO terminals.
The Substitute leakage current mode has two additional functions:
Substitute Short
Substitute Open
These functions enable verification of the DUT's supplied leakage source. Both
functions can be activated from the main leakage current menu with the Mode
softkey.
The Substitute Short function measures the short circuit current of the DUT,
loading the DUT by a resistor with a nominal value of approximately 120 Ω. The
Substitute Open function measures the touch voltage of the DUT under an open
circuit condition. Load resistance is >30 MΩ.
The resistance value that the Product connects to the HI and LO output terminals
is calculated and shown in the field PARAMETERS.
