Figure 4.31: How to drive
4.8.1 How to drive
Referencing figure 4.31, , here are a list of some simple
rules of proper use in order to spread fertiliser evenly.
Carry out all the fertilising steps, keeping working
speed constant and near the speed with which the
machine was calibrated (see § § 4.7.8).
Keep spreading disc rotation speed constant.
Carry out a border run first.
When spreading on the borders of a filed near
waterways or streets, use the border spread-
ing device (see § 4.7.2) and keep a distance
(W/2) from the border of the field equal to half
the working width (W ). Drive in the direction
that keeps the border spreading device facing
the border of the field.
Should part of the fertiliser be allowed to go be-
yond the limits of the work field, you can carry
out border spreading closing the spreading sec-
tion on the border side. In this case, keep the
tractor near the edge of the field.
Deactivate the border spreading deflector and fer-
tilise in equally distanced paths (working width W )
parallel to the longest side of the field. Should the
work field be on an incline, it is preferable to fertilise
in parallel, equally distanced paths but in the direction
of the slope.
Due to the rear spreading of the fertiliser spreader, on
headlands you must stop spreading when the spread-
ing discs are at a distance (W/2) equal to half of the
working width; when starting up again, you must re-
open spreading when the discs are at a distance (W)
from the border passage.
It is possible to drive on sloped surfaces with:
ia diagonal incline
