5000 Series
NB!:
If the setting in parameter 102-109 is
changed, the parameters 110-118 will return
to factory setting.
106
106 Rated motor speed
(MOTOR NOM. SPEED)
Value:
100 - 60000 rpm (RPM)
[100 - 60000]
Depends on the choice of motor.
Function:
This is where the value is selected that corresponds
to the rated motor speed n
M,N
, which can be seen
from the nameplate data.
Description of choice:
The rated motor speed n
M,N
is used i.a. for calculat-
ing the optimal slip compensation.
NB!:
It is important to enter the correct value, since
this forms part of the VVC
plus
control feature.
The max. value equals f
M,N
x 60. Set f
M,N
in param-
eter 104.
NB!:
If the setting in parameter 102-109 is
changed, the parameters 110-118 will return
to factory setting.
107
107 Automatic motor adaptation, AMA
(AUTO MOTOR ADAPT)
Value:
Adaptation off (OFF)
[0]
Adaptation on, R
S
and X
S
(ENABLE (RS,XS))
[1]
Adaptation on, R
S
(ENABLE (RS))
[2]
Function:
If this function is used, the VLT frequency converter
automatically sets the necessary control parameters
(parameters 108/109) with the motor stationary. Au-
tomatic motor adaptation ensures optimum use of
the motor.
For the best possible adaptation of the VLT fre-
quency converter, it is recommended to run AMA on
a cold motor.
The AMA function is activated by pressing the
[START] key after selecting [1] or [2].
See also section Automatic motor adaptation .
The section Automatic motor adaption, AMA, via VLT
software dialog shows how automatic motor adapta-
tion can be activated by means of VLT Software
Dialog. After a normal sequence, the display will
read "ALARM 21". Press the [STOP/RESET] key.
The VLT frequency converter is now ready for opera-
tion.
Description of choice:
Select Enable, R
S
and X
S
[1] if the VLT frequency
converter is to be able to carry out automatic motor
adaptation of both the stator resistance R
S
and the
stator reactance X
S
.
Select Optimisation on, R
S
[2] if a reduced test is to
be carried out, in which only the ohmic resistance in
the system is determined.
NB!:
It is important to set motor parameters
102-106 correctly, since these form part of the
AMA algorithm. In most applications, correct enter-
ing of motor parameters 102-106 is sufcient. For
optimum dynamic motor adaptation, an AMA must
be carried out.
Motor adaptation may take up to 10 minutes,
depending on the output of the motor in question.
NB!:
There must not be any externally generat-
ing torque during automatic motor adaptation.
NB!:
If the setting in parameter 102-109 is
changed, the parameters 110-118 will return
to factory setting.
108
108 Stator resistor (STATOR RESIST)
Value:
Depends on the choice of motor
Function:
After setting motor data in parameters 102-106, a
number of adjustments of various parameters are
made automatically, including the stator resistance
R
S
. A manually entered R
S
must apply to a cold
motor. The shaft performance can be improved by
ne-tuning R
S
and X
S
, see procedure below.
Description of choice:
R
S
can be set as follows:
1. Automatic motor adaptation, where the VLT fre-
quency converter measures on the motor to
determine the value. All compensations are reset
to 100%.
2. The values are stated by the motor supplier.
= factory setting. () = display text [] = value for use in communication via serial communication port
