Parameters
delay-time: Sets a link down suppression interval, ranging from 2 to 10 seconds.
Description
Use the link-delay command to enable an Ethernet port to suppress link down events. When the physical
link of the port goes down, the port suppresses the link down event and starts a timer. When the timer
expires, the physical layer reports the event to the upper layers.
Use the undo link-delay command to restore the default.
By default, link down suppression is disabled. Ethernet ports report link down events to the upper layers
without delay.
NOTE:
• The link-delay mode up command and the link-delay
command are mutually exclusive with each other
on the current port. When both commands are configured on the port, the one that is confi
g
ured earlier
is disabled.
• Link down suppression setting does not take effect on administratively down events. When you shut
down the port with the shutdown command, the port reports the event without delay.
• H3C does not recommend that you use this command on ports that are disabled with RRPP, MSTP, or
Smart Link.
Examples
# Enable link down suppression on port GigabitEthernet 1/0/1, setting the suppression interval to 8
