7: Care and Cleaning
7.1 General Information
Before each examination, clean and use a disinfectant on any part of the system and any
accessory that touches a patient.

Daily Semiannually
Clean the Biopsy Paddle with a disinfectant after use.*
Clean the Breast Platform with a disinfectant after use.*
Inspect the Biopsy Paddle for damage before use.
Inspect the calibration Phantom for damage.
Inspect all cables for wear and damage before use.
Make sure that the Affirm system locks in position.
Make sure that the Needle Guides are installed correctly
before use.
Make sure that all displays are illuminated.
Perform QAS Procedures once each day before use of the
system.
Geometry Calibration (refer to Geometry Calibration on page
78)
