ThinPrep™ 5000 Processor with AutoLoader Operator’s Manual
Small Batch Mode
A small batch mode allows for processing of up to 20 samples in a single batch. The sample vials,
filters and pre-labeled slides are loaded directly into the carousel of the processor. Each batch may
contain only one type of specimen (all gynecologic or all non-gynecologic or all UroCyte).

Intended Use
ThinPrep 5000 processor
The ThinPrep™ 5000 processor is part of the ThinPrep™ system. It is used to prepare ThinPrep
microscope slides from ThinPrep™ PreservCyt™ vials for use as a replacement for the conventional
method of Pap smear preparations for screening for the presence of atypical cells, cervical cancer, or
its precursor lesions (Low-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions, High-grade Squamous
Intraepithelial Lesions) as well as all other cytologic categories as defined by

ThinPrep filters
ThinPrep™ Pap Test filters are for use with a ThinPrep™ processor to collect and transfer a
ThinPrep™ Pap Test PreservCyt™ sample to a ThinPrep™ slide as part of the ThinPrep™ system.
