2.3 Logging In to Router Through Telnet
2.3.1 Establishing the Configuration Task
Applicable Environment
If you know the IP address of the router, you can log in to the router through Telnet for local
or remote configuration.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring the router through Telnet, complete the following tasks:

Powering on devices and performing a self-check
z
Preparing the PC (including the serial port and Ethernet crossover/direct network cable
Data Preparation
To log in to the router through Telnet, you need the following data.

1 IP address of the PC
2 IP address of the Ethernet interface on the router
3 User information accessed through Telnet (including user name, password and
authentication mode)
