Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1. Establish the physical connection
2. Configure user login parameters
3. Logging in to the router from the client side
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data
z
IP address of the PC
z
IP address of the Ethernet interface on the router
z
User information accessed through Telnet (including the user name, password and
authentication mode)
Configuration Procedure
Step 1 Connect the PC and the router respectively to the network.
Step 2 Configure login user parameters.
# Configure the login address
<Quidway> system-view
[Quidway] interface GigabitEthernet 1/0/0
[Quidway-GigabitEthernet1/0/0] ip address 202.38.160.92 255.255.0.0
[Quidway-GigabitEthernet1/0/0] quit
# Configure login authentication mode
[Quidway] aaa
[Quidway-aaa] local-user huawei password cipher test2
[Quidway-aaa] local-user huawei service-type telnet
[Quidway-aaa] local-user huawei level 3
[Quidway-aaa] quit
[Quidway] user-interface vty 0 4
[Quidway-ui-vty0-14] authentication-mode aaa
Step 3 Configure the client login.
Run the Telnet on the PC, as shown in Figure 2-6.
