Updating the CMOS settings in Setup     8-7
If you replace the system battery, you need to reset the 
system date and time in Setup.
Follow these steps:
1.
Enter Setup.
2.
From the Setup main menu, select 
Date and Time
.
3.
Set the date and the time.
4.
Press 
Esc
 to exit Setup.
5.
Use the left arrow key to select 
Yes
, the press 
Enter
 to 
save the settings in CMOS.
You may also change the time and date from the 
Windows 95 desktop.
1.
Double-click on the 
My Computer
 icon.
2.
Double-click on the 
Control Panel
 icon.
3.
From the Control Panel, double-click on the 
Date/
TIme
 icon to display the items for changing the date 
and time.
4.
Make the necessary changes then click on the 
OK
button.
Updating the CMOS settings in Setup
When you add system board components, such as system 
memory modules, your system’s Basic Input/Output System 
(BIOS) detects the hardware changes and updates the 
CMOS settings automatically. However, if you replace or 
remove components, you might receive a message that asks 
you to verify if the automatic detection changed the 
configuration correctly.
To verify or correct the system configuration settings, enter 
Setup. See the section “Entering Setup” on page 5-3.
