Entering Setup
When the computer is on
Follow these steps to enter Setup when the computer is on:
1.
Save all open files and close all running applications.
2.
Click on the
Start
button from your Windows 95
desktop.
3.
Click on the
Shut Down...
option.
4.
From the window that appears, click on the option
Restart the computer?
5.
When you see the IBM logo and the line message
“Press F1 to enter Setup”, press
F1
to enter Setup and
display the main menu.
If you have previously set a power-on password, you
are prompted to type in the password after you press
the F1 key. See the section “Power-on password” on
page 5-14 for information on setting, changing, or
removing the password.
When the computer is off
Follow these steps to enter Setup when the computer is off:
1.
Turn on your monitor.
2.
Turn on the system unit.
3.
When you see the IBM logo and the line message
“Press F1 to enter Setup”, press
F1
to enter Setup and
display the main menu.
If you have previously set a power-on password, you
are prompted to type in the password after you press
the F1 key. See the section “Power-on password” on
page 5-14 for information on setting, changing, or
removing the password.
Note:
You cannot enter Setup after the Power On Self Test
(POST) is complete.
