8-20 Working with Master/Slave
ICE Vulcan Service Manual
Connecting the LPAs Together
To connect the LPAs proceed as follows:
1
If the LPAs are not already connected, they may be connected
together as
described “Physical Installation” on page 8-3.
After a few seconds any Faults and/or Warnings messages on the
Master and Slave LPAs
becomes 'clearable' indicating that all
connections have been successfully made.
2
If any Faults/Warnings can not be cleared, switch off and on the slave
LPA concerned.
3
If the problem persists, repeat the configuration steps to ensure that
the Master and
Slaves LPAs have been configured with the correct IP
addresses, subnet masks and port
numbers.
4
If operating under 'Group Control' mode, any Faults and/or
Warnings present on the
Slave LPAs is reported on the Master LPA
CLARiTY screen, then they must be cleared at the
Master LPA.
Using Master/Slave Mode - Group Job Select Mode
The primary function of this mode is to ensure that all LPAs in the group
are printing the same
(image) 'Job'.
Job are selected from the Master LPA only and automatically sent to the
Slave LPAs
connected.
The Master LPA
In 'Group Job Select' mode, the CLARiTY Operator interface acts
differently to that of a
standalone LPA.
