The following functions can be assigned to the optional VS-3 Bluetooth
®
 headsetʼs 
Custom Keys, [PTT], [PLAY], [FWD], and [RWD].
Assignable functions:
Function Description
--- No function
UP Push to increase the frequency or change the channels up in 
the Memory mode.
DOWN Push to decrease the frequency or change the channels down 
in the Memory mode.
VOL UP Push to turn up the volume level.
VOL DOWN Push to turn down the volume level.
SQL UP Push to turn up the squelch level.
SQL DOWN Push to turn down the squelch level.
RF Gain UP Push to turn up the RF gain.
RF Gain DOWN Push to turn down the RF gain.
ATT Push to change the ATT setting.
Monitor (Push) Hold down to open the squelch. Release to close the squelch.
Monitor (Hold) Push to open or close the squelch.
VFO/MR Push to toggle between the VFO mode and the Memory mode.
Home CH Push to directly select the Home CH that is set to the selected 
mode (VFO/Memory).
While in the weather channel mode, or when no Home CH is 
set, an error beep sounds.
BAND In the VFO mode, push to change the receive band.
In the Memory mode, push to change the memory group.
SCAN Push to start the scan.
While scanning, push to stop the scan.
Temporary Skip Push to set the frequency to be skipped while scanning.
The selected frequencies are temporarily skipped while 
scanning for faster scanning.
SPEECH Hold down for 1 second to announce the frequency, receive 
mode, or call sign.
 L In the VFO or Memory channel mode, the receive frequency 
and mode are announced.
MAIN/DUAL While in the single display mode, push the key to toggle 
between the A band and B band.
While in the dual display mode, push the key to toggle between 
the SUB band and MAIN band.
Hold down the key to toggle between the single display and the 
dual display mode.
