Note
TheEK80softwaresupportsseveraldifferenttransceiverunits.Thispublicationis
mainlyintendedforvesselinstallationsofEK80usingtheWideBandTransceiver(WBT).
BeforeyouturnontheEK80
BeforeyouturnontheEK80,makesurethatthetransducerissubmergedinwater.If
youareusingadropkeel,makesurethatyouhavesufcientwaterdepthtolowerit.
Caution
YoumustneversettheEK80to"ping"unlessthetransducerissubmergedinwater.
Mosttransducersaredamagedbeyondrepairiftheytransmitinopenair.Prevent
inadvertentuseoftheEK80wheneveratransducerisnot
submerged.
WhentheEK80isnotused
WhenyoudonotusetheEK80,turnoffthedisplayandtheProcessorUnit.Ifyou
arenotusingtheEK80foralongperiodoftime,werecommendthatyouturnoffthe
transceiver(s).
Whenyouaredockingyourvessel
YoumustneverturnontheEK80whentheshipisindrydock.Thetransducer(s)may
bedamagediftheEK80transmitsinopenair.TopreventinadvertentuseoftheEK80,
pulloutthemainsplugontheProcessorUnitwheneveryourvesselisindrydock.
Additionalprecautionarymeasurersshouldbeconsidered.
