WithseveralsensorsconnectedtotheEK80,manyofthemwillprovidethesame
datagrams.Wecannotexpectthatthedatagramsprovidethesameinformation.
TheSensorCongurationpageallowsyoutodeneadatagrampriority,sothatthe
informationfromthe"mostreliable"sensorisusedbytheEK80.Y oucanalsodene
manualvaluesincaseasensorisunserviceable,ornotinstalled.
Prerequisites
Thisprocedureassumesthat:
•ThenewsensorisphysicallyconnectedtotheEK80usingaserialornetworkcable.
•Theinterfaceportissetupwiththecorrectcommunicationparameters.
•ThenavigationsensorisinstalledintotheEK80software.Therelevantinterface
parametersandphysicallocationpropertiesaredened.
Context
Anyinformationinadatagram,forexamplethecurrentdepth,maybeprovidedin
differentdatagramsfromseveralsensors.Duetoanumberofreasons(environmental
conditions,installation,conguration,accuracy,etc.),thenumericalvaluesprovidedcan
bedifferentfromonesensortoanother.
SeveralsensorareprovidedontheSensorCongurationpage,oneforeachtypeof
information.SelectthesensoryouwishtocongureintheSensorlist.Foreachtype,you
candeneaprioritysensorbyrearrangingthedatagramsinalist.Youcanalsodene
manualvaluesincaseasensorisunserviceable,ornotinstalled.
TheEK80cancommunicatewithseveraldifferentsensortypes.UsetheSensor
InstallationpagetodenewhichexternalsensorsyourEK80willimportinformation
from.Youmustalsospecifywhichdatagramformatstouse.

WhenyouworkintheInstallationdialogbox,youmustalwaysselectApplytosavethe
changesmadeonapage.Youmustdothisbefore youcontinueworkingonadifferent
page.

2OntheSetupmenu,selectInstallation.
ObservethattheInstallationdialogboxopens.Thisdialogboxcontainsanumber
ofpagesselectedfromthemenuontheleftside.
3OntheleftsideoftheInstallationdialogbox,selectSensorConguration.
