TooperatetheEK80withatransceiveryouneedavalidsoftwarelicense.Beforeyou
canusetheEK80youmustobtaina"licensestring"andinstallitonyourProcessorUnit.
Withoutalicenseyouwillnotbeabletocommunicatewiththetransceiver.
Prerequisites
ThisprocedureassumesthattheEK80operatingsoftwarehasbeensuccessfullyinstalled
ontheProcessorUnit.
Context
Thesoftwarelicenseisa32characterhexadecimalstringbasedonthetransceiver’sserial
number.Itdenesseveralkeyparametersthatcontrolthefunctionalityandbehaviour
ofthetransceiver(s)youuse.Eachsoftwarelicensecode"unlocks"onetransceiverfor
operationalusewithasetofpredenedproperties.
ThesoftwarelicenseisnotlinkedtothephysicalProcessorUnit.Youcantherefore
easilymovethesoftwarefromonecomputertoanother,justremembertomakeacopy
ofthelicensestring.

Onceyoureceiveyoursoftwarelicensestring(s),donotlosethem .Wesuggestthatyou
copytheinformationintoatextle(forexampleNotepad),andaddrelevantinformation.
PlacethetextleontheProcessorUnitdesktop,andmakesurethatbackupcopies
aremade.
