Procedure
1Connectthemotionsensorsystemtoanavailablecommunicationportonyour
ProcessorUnit.
ThisisdescribedintheCablelayoutandinterconnectionschapter.Observethe
applicablerequirementsrelatedtocabling.Makesurethatthetotallengthofthe
seriallinecabledoesnotexceedapproximately50meters.Ifalongercableis
required,youmayneedtousebufferampliers.
IftheProcessorUnitisnotttedwithasuitableseriallineconnector,usea
USB-to-serialconverter.Severaltypesarecommerciallyavailable.Notethatmost
USB-to-serialconverterswillintroducesomelatency.Theymayalsointroduce
bejitterinthecommunication.Theamountofjitterdependsonthequalityof
theconverter.
2OpentheSetupmenu.
3OntheSetupmenu,selectInstallation.
ObservethattheInstallationdialogboxopens.Thisdialogboxcontainsanumber
ofpagesselectedfromthemenuontheleftside.
4OntheleftsideoftheInstallationdialogbox,selectSensorInstallation.
5Selectthemotionreferenceformatyouwanttouse.
6Selecttheportyouwishtouse(serialorLAN).
7Ifyouwanttocheckthecommunicationparameters,selectInspectPort.
