thePowerSupplyUnitthroughthecableglandatthebottomofthecabinet.The
transducercableis40metreslong.Thecablecannotbeextended.Thecablecan
becuttomatchtheinstallationrequirements.Makesurethatthecablelengthis
minimum15metres.

•Itisveryimportantthathigh-qualityEthernetcablesareused.Y oumustuseCAT-5E
STP(ShieldedTwistedPair)qualityorbetter.Ifyouusecableswithlowerbandwidth
capacityyouwillreducetheEK80performance.Donot connecttheProcessorUnitto
theWideBandTransceiver(WBT)usinganexistinglocalareanetwork(LAN).
•ThegroundingcablefortheWBTCabinetisnotlisted.Thegroundingcableisa
specialbraidedwirethatisphysicallyconnectedtothecabinet.Itisconnectedto
vesselgroundbymeansofthecabinet’sshockabsorbers.
•MorethanoneseriallinecablemayberequiredtoconnecttheProcessorUnitto
externaldevices.Toidentifythesecables,usepostxletters.(C10A,C10B,C10C...).
•TheEK80isoftenapartofaprojectdelivery.Forsuchdeliveries,specicproject
cabledrawingsareestablishedtoshowallthemaincables,andhowthevarious
productsareconnected.Insuchprojectcabledrawings,theEK80cablesmaybe
identiedasEK80/Cx.
