Editing a program
Easy editing using the buttons
and knobs
AllofthemicroSTATION’sprogramscanbeedited.
Youcancreateoriginalprogramsbyeditingthe
preloadprogramsonthemicroSTATIONwithout
needingtouseexternalsoftware.
ByusingthemicroSTATIONEditor/PlugInEditor
softwarethatisinstalledonyourcomputer,you’llalso
beabletocreateoriginalprogramsfromscratch,
startingfromaninitializedprogram.
However,creatingthesoundyouwantfroman
initializedprogramisalotofwork.Werecommend
thatyoustartwithapreloadprogramthat’scloseto
whatyouhaveinmind,andmodifyittoyourtaste.
Let’stryusingtherealtimecontrolknobsonthe
microSTATION’sfrontpaneltoeditaprogram.For
example,youcaneditparameterssuchascutoff,
resonance,andreleasetimeinthisway.
Muting/un-muting oscillators
OnthemicroSTATION,youcanusethefrontpanel
PLAY/MUTEbuttonandfunctionbuttons01and02to
switchthemute/unmutestatusofeachprogram
oscillator.
1. PressthefrontpanelPLAY/MUTE
buttontoturniton(theLEDattheleft
ofthebuttonwilllightup).
2. Pressfunctionbutton01or02to
switchoscil
lators1or2betweenmutedandun
mutedstates.
Fun
ctionLEDs1and2locatedabovethebuttons
willbelitupordarktoindicatethestatusofeach
oscillator.Theoscillatorwillsoundiftheindicator
islitup,andwillbemutediftheindicatorisdark.
Note: Oscillator2cannotbecontrolle
dforasingle
oscillatorprogramwhichusesonlyoneoscillator.
Using realtime controls to edit the
sound or effects
Youcanusetherealtimecontrols(theSELECTbutton
andknobs1–4)tomodifythesoundandcontrolthe
arpeggiator.
1. PresstheREALTIMECONTROLS
SELECTbuttontoswitchtherealtime
controlfunctionbetweenA,B,orCmode.
Eachtimeyoupressthebutton,you’llcycle
throughA,B,andCmodes,an
dthe
correspondingLE
Dwilllightup.
Note: IfCC#70–79areassignedto
REALTIMECONTROLSAmodeandB
mode,thesoundthatyoueditusingknobs1–4will
besavedwhenyouwritetheprogram.Arpeggiator
settingsyoumakeinCmodewillalsobesaved.

InmodeAyoucanturnknobs1–4tocontroloredit
thefollowingitems.
Note: Whenaknobisinthecenterposition(12
o’clock),theparameterwillhavethevaluespecifiedby
theprogram.
Knob [1]: CUTOFF
Thisadjuststhefilterscutofffrequency.Adjustingthe
cutofffrequencywillmodifythebrightnessofthe
sound.
Knob [2]: RESONANCE
Thisadjuststhefiltersresonancelevel.
Adjustingthefilterresonancelevelwillboostthe
soundintheregionofthefrequency,givinga
distinctivecharactertothesound.
