Playing and editing combinations
About the microSTATION’s combinations
A“combination”consistsofuptosixteenprograms,
whichcanbesplitorlayered.Thisletsyoucreate
complexsoundsthatwouldnotbepossibleforan
individualprogram.YoulluseCombinationmodeto
playoreditcombinations.
Thischapterexplainsthebasicsofusingcombinations,
suchashowtousethepanelbuttonsandperform
basiceditin
ginCombinationmode.

Youcanselectacombinationinanyofthefollowing
ways.
•UsetheCATEGORYSELECTbuttonsandthe
buttonsorthefunction01–16buttons

Using the CATEGORY SELECT buttons
and the  buttons
1. PresstheMODECOMBIbutton(theLEDwill
lightup).
YouwillenterCombinationmode,andtheCOMBI
PLAYpagewillappear.
Thelowerlineofthedisplayshowstheindex
numberandthenameofthecombination.
The“”shownattheleftoftheindexnumber
indicatesthatyoucanpressthebuttontoselect
combinationswithinthecurrentcategory.Ifa“–”is
shownattheleftofthenumber,thatcategory
containsonlyonecombination.
IftheGlobal/Mediamode“ScrollText”settingisOn,
namesetc.thatcannotbeshowninthedisplay
becauseoftheirlengthwillscroll.
2. UsetheCATEGORYSELECTbuttonstochoosea
combinationcategory.
Youcanchoosefromthefollowingninecategories.
ThefrontpanelCATEGORYindicatorsshowthe
selectedcategory.
Thefirsttimeyouselectacategory,combination001
ofthatcategorywillbeshown.
3. Usethebuttonstoselectacombination.
4. Playthekeyboardtohearthesoundofthe
selectedcombination.

YoucanusetheCATEGORYSELECTbuttonsand
functionbuttons01–16toselectacombinationinthe
samewayaswhenselectingaprogram.

Overview of the combination memories
WhenthemicroSTATIONisshippedfromthefactory,
itscombinationmemorycontains256preloaded
combinationsorganizedintotwobanksasshownin
thetablebelow.
InCOMBIPLAYwhenyouturnNumLockonand
pressthe14(ENTER)button,thebankandnumberare
shownintherightsideoftheupperlineofthedisplay.

OnthemicroSTATION,youselectcombinationsusing
indexnumberswithineachcategory.Acategoryispre
assignedtoeachcombination,orcanbespecified
whenyouwriteacombination.
