Adjusting the pan of each timbre

“Pan”settingsadjustthepanofeachtimbre.
Thetimbre’spansettingworksinconjunctionwiththe
pansettingoftheprogram.Ifthetimbrepansettingis
C064,thepanwillbethesameasspecifiedbythe
programsetting.Adjustingthetimbrepanwillsh
ift
thesoundtowardtheleftorrightwhilemaintaining
thepansettingsofeachoscillator.AsettingofL001is
farleft,andasettingofR127isfarright.
Switching the play/mute status of each
timbre
IfyoupressthefrontpanelPLAY/MUTEbuttonto
turniton(theLEDattheupperleftofthebuttonwill
lightup),youcanusefunctionbuttons01–16toturn
eachtimbreon/off.Byswitchingeachtimbreon/off,
youcanhearitssoundandcheckitssettings.
MIDI settings
Status
HereyoucanspecifytheMIDIandinternalsound
generatorstatusforeachtimbre.ChooseINTifyou
wantthetimbretoplaytheinternalsoundgenerator.
ChooseOfffortimbresyou’ renotusing.Timbresthat
aresettoOff,EXT,orEX2willnotsound.Choosing
theEXTorEX2se
ttingletsthattimbrecontrolaMIDI
connectedexternalsoundmodule.

MIDI channel
UseCOMBIEDIT:Timbres‐Timbre01–Timbre16
“MIDICh.”tospecifytheMIDIchannelforeach
timbre.
IfyouwanttoplayatimbrefromthemicroSTATION’s
keyboard,you’llneedtosetthattimbretotheglobal
MIDIchannel(Gch).Whenyouplaythe
microSTATION’skeyboard,you’llhearthetimbres
thataresettomatc
hthisMIDIchannel.Normally
you
’llsetthistoGch.IfthisissettoGch,theMIDI
channelofthetimbrewillalwaysmatchtheglobal
MIDIchannelevenifyouchangetheglobalMIDI
channel.
Inthepreloadcombinations,timbreswhereth e
arpeggiatorisassignedmighthaveaMID
Ichannel
settingotherthanGch.Thosetimb reswill
sound
onlywhenthearpeggiatorison.(Thisisauseful
techniquewhen creatingacombinationthatuses
anarpeggiator.)

MIDI filter settings
COMBIEDIT:Timbres‐Timbre01–Timbre16MIDI
FilterletsyouadjustMIDIfiltersettingsforeach
timbre.
EachMIDIfilteritemspecifieswhetherthe
correspondingMIDImessagewillbetransmittedand
received.Themessagewillbetransmittedand
receivedifthesettingisOn.
TheMIDIfiltersettingisnotanon/offswitchforthe
functionitself.
ItmerelycontrolswhetherMIDI
messagesaretransmittedandreceived.
Forexample,supposeyou’recreatingabass/piano
split,andyou’veassignedabassprogramtotimbre1
andapianoprogramtotimbre2.Ifyouusethe
settingsthataredescribedbelow,thedamperpedal
willapplyonlytothepianosoundplayedbytimbre2.
