Knob [3]: EG-INTENSITY
ThisadjuststhefilterEGintensity(thedepthofhow
theEGaffectsthefilter).
Operatingtheknobwillchangetheamountofhowthe
filterisaffectedbytheEG.Normally,turningtheknob
towardtheleftwillmakethefilterEGshallower,and
turningtheknobtowardtherightwillmakeitdeeper.
Sincethefilt
erEGoperatesrelativetothefiltercutoff
frequency,bothknobs1and3willcontrolthetonal
changeproducedbythefilter.
Knob [4]: EG-RELEASE
ThisadjuststhefilterandampEGreleasetime,
changingthetimefromnote‐offuntilthesoundisno
longerheard.
Tu
rningtheknobwillchangethereleasetimeofthe
filterEGandtheampEG.Normally,turningtheknob
towardtheleftwillshortenthereleasetime,and
turningtheknobtowardtherightwilllengthenit.

Saving the edits you made by moving the
knobs
Therealtimecontrolknobsareanidealwaytomodify
thesoundwhileyouperform.Asneeded,pressthe
frontpanelWRITEbuttontoexecute“WriteProgram”
andsavethesoundyou’veedited.(p. 58“Writingto
internalmemory”)
HoweverforRealtimeControlBmodeknobs1–4,the
editedsettingscanbesavedonlyifyou’veassigned
CC#70–79.
Internally,a
singleknobusuallyaffectsseveral
differentparameters.WhenyouwriteaProgram,the
editsaresavedintotheindividualprogram
parameters,andnottotheknobitself.
AfterwritingtheProgram,you’llnoticethattheknobs
havereturnedtotheircenterpositions–sincetheold
“edited”valuesarenowthenew“saved”values.

Using COMPARE
Whenyou’ reintheprocessofeditingasound,
pressingtheCOMPAREbuttonwillrecallthelast
savedversionofthesound,asitwasbeforeyou
startedediting.
