onyourcomputerasadedicatedfilefortheeditor
application(PGp. 205).
Writing to internal memory
Writing a Program or Combination
TheProgramandCombinationsettingsyou’vemade
inthevariouseditingpagescanbesavedtointernal
memory.Thisactionisreferredtoas“writinga
program”or“writingaCombination.”Ifyouwant
yourediteddatatobepreservedafterthepoweris
turnedoff,youmustperformaWriteoperati
on.
TherearetwowaystowriteaProg
ramor
Combination.
Beforeyoucanwritedataintomemory,youmust
turnoff thememoryprotectsettinginGlobal/
Mediamode.
Fordetails,pleasesee“Memoryprot ect”onpage 59.
Acombinationdoesnotcontaintheactual
programdataforeachtimbre,butsimply
referencesthenumberoftheprogramusedby
eachtimbre.Ifyouedit aprogramthatisusedbya
combination,orexchangeitwithadifferent
programnumber,thesoundofthecombination
willalsochange,reflectingthealt
eredprogram.

Using the WRITE button
Thismethodallowsyoutowriteonlytotheprogram/
combinationnumberthat’sselected.
1. PresstheWRITEbutton.
Thedisplaywillask“OK?”
ToexecutetheWriteoperation,pressthebutton.

rethattheprogramthatyouwanttosav

isselected.
2. Enteraneditpage,andchoose“WriteProgram.”
3. Edittheprogramnameasdesired.
Usethebuttonstoselectthecharacterlocation,
andusethebuttonstospecifythecharacterfor
thatlocation.
4. Use“Cat”tospecifyacategoryfortheprogram.
Youllbeableto selectthepr
ogramviathecategory
thatyouspecifiedhere.
5. Usethe“To”fieldtospecifythewriting
destinationbankandnumber.

(ENTER)button.
6. TobegintheWriteoperation,makethedis
play
indicate“OK?”andthenpressthebutton.
How tone parameter settings are saved
Thesoundparametersofaprogram,andadjustments
appliedtotheprogramsusedbyacombinationor
song,arereferredtoas“toneparameters.”
Therearetwotypesoftoneparametersasdescribed
below,andtheirtypewilldeterminehowtheyare
written.
Absolute:ThistypeofToneparametercontrolsa
singleprogramparameter.TheProgramparameter
andtheTon
eparameterreflecteachotherexactly.If
youeditone,theotherparameterwillreflectthe
identicalchange.ThistypeofToneparameter
“absolutely”controlstheprogramparameteritself.
Relative:ThistypeofToneparametercontrolstwo
ormoreprogramparameterssimultaneously.For
example,“Filter/AmpEGAttackTime”controlsa
totalofsixprogramparameters.Thevalueofa
relativeparameterindicatestheamountofchange
thatisappliedtothevalueofeachprogram
parameterit’saffecting.
Whenarelativeparameterisatzero(i.e.,whenits
sliderisinthecenterposition),th
eprogram
parametersitcontrolswillfunctionaccordingto
theiroriginalsettings.Raisingorloweringthevalue
