Trouble shooting
If you suspect a malfunction, please check the following points. If this does not
resolve the problem, please contact a nearby dealer.
No sound
Is the VOLUME knob set to a position where sound will be output?
Is the MIDI “LOCAL Control” seing turned ON?
Were any volume-related parameters set to a value of 0?
Could FILTER “CUTOFF” be set to 0 ?
Could the Vocoder FILTER “EF.SENS” parameter be set to HOLD (FORMANT
HOLD) when there is no input to the INPUT jack?
Cant edit
Can’t select timbre 2:
Have you set the VOICE “Voice Mode” parameter to something other than
SINGLE?
Can’t select vocoder parameters in Full Edit mode:
Is the vocoder turned on?
If the changes you made to a program or to the global seings have not been
remembered, did you turn the power o before executing the Write operation?
In the case of a program, your edits will also be lost if you select a dierent
program. Execute the Write operation to save your edits before you switch
programs or turn o the power.
Arpeggiator will not start
Is the arpeggiator on (ARP buon lit up)?
Is the arpeggiator assigned to a timbre?
Is the GLOBAL MIDI “MIDI Clock” seing correct?
Transpose, velocity curve, and arpeggiator data is not recognized
correctly
Is the GLOBAL “Position” set appropriately?
No response to MIDI messages sent from an external device
Is the MIDI cable or USB cable connected correctly?
Does the MIDI channel of the data transmied from the external MIDI device
match the MIDI channel of the RK-100S.
Does not respond correctly to MIDI messages sent from an external
device
Is the MIDI FILTER parameter for that type of MIDI message set to Enable?
Can't control two timbres on separate MIDI channels
The RK-100S uses only one MIDI channel to transmit and receive when the
VOICE “Voice Mode” is set to SINGLE, LAYER, or SPLIT. You can use two
MIDI channels to play the two timbres independently only when VOICE “Voice
Mode” is set to MULTI.
