10.6 Twine bar
The twine bar (1) moves the tying twine away from the needle and pushes it against the knotter
hook. If the tying twine is not grasped by the twine bars, the knotter hook cannot receive the
tying twine.

10.6.1 Setting the twine bar (single knotter)

• Trigger the tying process manually with machine at a standstill
• Turn the needle yoke manually on the flywheel in working direction upwards. Until the
twine bars (1) are located centrically over the channel slots
• Tighten the flywheel brake to lock the needles in this position
In this position the distance “b” between the tip of the twine bar and the inside of the needle (2)
must be "b" = 2 - 5 mm. The setting is made by loosening the screws (3) and (4) of the twine bar
(1).
Checking / setting the dimension “a”
• Loosen the flywheel brake and turn the needle yoke manually on the flywheel in working
position upwards until the needle yoke is in idle position (i.e. the crank arm (1) and needle
connecting rod (2) are in extended position), refer to chapter “Setting the needle yoke
brake”
• Tighten the flywheel brake to lock the tying in this position
• Press the twine bar (1) on the tip manually to the channel slot
The lateral distance “a” between the tip of the twine bar and the channel slot has to be “a” = 0 -
5 mm in this position.
The setting of the lateral distance "a" is made on the control linkage assembly (5) of the twine
bar (1). For setting unscrew counter nuts (6) and nut (8) of the ball head. Turn the control
linkage until the dimension is set to “a” = 0 -5 mm. Then, tighten counter nuts and nut (8) again.
Note
During assembly, make certain that the crease (5) in the control linkage is facing up and left.
