7.3.3 Mounting a z-axis
Mounting on a spacer
If only the z-axis is used then this is screwed directly onto the spacer without any
fixing strips.
Mounting on an x- or y-axis.
1. Place the z-axis centrally on the metal block of the x- or y-axis.
2. Place one of the threaded fixing strips below the z-axis so that the cramping
edge fits inside the ridge. Slide the strip and the z-axis until the openings of the
z-axis coincide with the openings in the strip.
3. Fix the strip lightly so that the axis can still slide about.
4. Fix the second strip in the same way.
5. Slide the axis to the central position above the lower axis.
6. Screw down the strips with four screws.

7.4 Connecting software-controlled axes
The connections for the axes (Axis 1 to Axis 4) are located on the rear panel of the
DSA100.

If the axes‘ electronics board and the connection panel must be installed please
read Chapter III in the appendix.
