12. Place the vessel in the position that corresponds to syringe 1.
The storage bottles delivered by KRÜSS stick to the bottom of the rack
magnetically.
13. Switch the valve used back to channel the liquid from the syringe to the dosing
tube ( see step 2).
14. Repeat the procedure for the other syringe(s).

15. Screw the needles into the needle carriers.
The thin needles are intended for sessile drops, the thicker ones for pendant
drops (surface tension measurements).

10.3 Adjusting the dosing unit
The dosing unit must be adjusted with respect to the camera so that the middle
horizontal needle position is in the middle of the recorded image.
1. Start the DSA software.
The camera button in the toolbar must be shown as being pressed (live
image). Click on the button if necessary.
2. Select the tab Dosing from the Device Control panel.

3. Select Syringe 1 (S1) in the drop-down menu in the upper left.
If a different syringe had been selected previously the syringe selector will
rotate to Position 1.
4. Select the tab Needle Pos (DSA1) respectively N-Pos (DSA3/DSA4).
