a. Locate the GPU adapter that you want to remove and disconnect the power cable from the
GPU adapter.
b.
Remove the GPU adapter retention screw.
c.
Grasp the GPU adapter by its edges and carefully pull it out of the PCIe slot.
Note: Press on the plastic latch on the rear end to ensure that the GPU adapter can be
removed from the chassis smoothly.
After you finish
1. Install a replacement unit or a slot bracket. See “Install a GPU adapter” on page 253.
2. If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and
use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
3. If the GPU adapter link bridge was removed, reinstall the link connector cover back to the GPU. If you do
not have the original link connector cover on hand, use the one on the new GPU adapter.
