• Touch the static-protective package that contains the drive to any unpainted metal surface on the server;
then, remove the drive from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Step 1. Fasten the four screws to secure the PCIe riser board to the PCIe riser cage.

After you finish
1. Reinstall the PCIe adapter or serial port module. See “Install a PCIe adapter” on page 188 or “Install the
serial port module” on page 213.
2. Reinstall the PCIe riser. See “Install a PCIe riser” on page 189.
3. Reconnect the required cables.
4. Complete the parts replacement. See “Complete the parts replacement” on page 328.
