Procedure
Step 1. Open the retention latch on the PCIe riser.
Step 2. Install the serial port module.
a.
Insert the serial port module into the PCIe riser.
b.
Fasten the screw to secure the serial port module to the PCIe riser.
c.
Close the retention latch.
d.
Route the serial port cable through the cable clip.

After you finish
1. Connect the serial port cable to the serial port cable connector on the system board. See “System-
board connectors” on page 34 for more details.
2. Reinstall the PCIe riser. See “Install a PCIe riser” on page 189.
3. Complete the parts replacement. See “Complete the parts replacement” on page 328.
System board replacement (trained technician only)
Follow instructions in this section to remove and install the system board.
Important: This task must be operated by trained technicians.
