5.3.2 Starting

Ignition switch positions:
P. Not in use.
O. Power OFF.
I. Power ON.
II. Not in use
III. START.
1. Ensure that the parking brake is ON.
2. Ensure that the motor hydraulics switch is OFF.
3. Check that all the controls are in neutral or OFF.
4. Turn on the main power switch.

5. Turn on the power, ignition switch position I.
6. Check that the following warning light symbols turn on:
• Parking brake.
7. Turn the ignition key to the START position and release it once the engine has started. (Preheating is fully automatic).
Do not actuate the starter for more than 30 seconds at a time. If the engine does not start, wait for two minutes before
repeating attempt. If the engine does not start after two attempts, locate the cause.
8. Once the engine is running, check that the oil pressure and charge indicators turn off. If a warning light remains on,
stop the engine and determine the cause.
