WARNING
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot
oil or hot components to contact the skin.
NOTE
Ensure that the engine is stopped before any servicing or repair is
performed.
NOTE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance
of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be
prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any
compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.
NOTE
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
The crankcase breather plays a major role in keeping your engine emissions compliant.
The crankcase breather filter element (605129049610) and O-ring (42160512904961) must be replaced every 1500
hours to ensure correct operation of the engine.
Genuine filter element (605129049610) protects the engine from excessive quantities of oil from entering the induction
system. The filter element also protects the engine aftertreatment system.
NOTE
Excessive quantities of oil that enter the induction system of the engine can
rapidly increase the engine speed without control.

1. Ensure that dirt cannot enter the breather assembly. Ensure that the outside body of the breather assembly is clean
and free from damage. Place a container under the breather assembly.
2. Make temporary marks on hose (4) to identify the correct orientation for installation purposes.
NOTE
A one-way valve is installed into the hose. Incorrectly installing the hose
can cause catastrophic engine failure.
3. Remove clip (3) and remove hose (4) from cap (2). Remove cap (2) from the main body (1).
4. Remove filter element (5) and remove O-ring seal (6) and discard.
