NOTE
Ensure that all part are clean and free from dirt and damage.
5. Apply clean engine oil to new O-ring seal (42160512904961). Install the O-ring seal (6) onto cap (2).
6. Install a new filter element (605129049610) into cap (2).
7. Install cap assembly into the main body (1). Tighten the cap assembly to 10 Nm (7 lb ft).
8. Install hose (4) and clip (3). Ensure that the hose is correctly orientated. If a new hose is being installed, the end of the
hose with the white band in position (X) must be attached to the breather canister.
NOTE
Incorrectly installing the hose can cause catastrophic engine failure.
9. Remove the container and clean away any split fluid.
6.16 Maintenance every 2000 operating hours
Also carry out maintenance items 140.
6.16.1 Alternator check (42)
Check that all alternator cables are intact and connections clean. Dirty or loose cable connections may cause charging
failures. Make repairs, as required.
6.16.2 Starter check (43)
Check that all starter cables are intact and connections clean. Dirty or loose cable connections may cause starting
failures.
6.16.3 Cooling system cleaning (44)
Coolant system cleaning must be done in an authorized service workshop.
Add coolant into the expansion tank as necessary.

Always use a mix of water and antifreeze as coolant in a ratio of 1:1 (50%
water + 50% antifreeze). Besides the antifreeze compound, the antifreeze
includes vital compounds that prevent engine and cooling system
corrosion.
The volume of the cooling system is approximately 10 l.
WARNING
Never pour cold coolant into a hot engine. The cap of a hot,
pressurized system must be opened very carefully.
6.16.4 Engine Mounts inspection (45)
Inspect the engine mounts for deterioration and for correct bolt torque. Excessive engine vibration can be caused by the
following conditions:
Incorrect mounting of the engine
Deterioration of the engine mounts
Loose engine mounts
All engine mounts (416026040) that show signs of deterioration must be replaced.
