Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.
OPERATING THERMOSTATS
See page 4-28 for the procedure for servicing
the High Temperature Operating Thermostat.
See page 4-29 for the procedure for servicing
the Low Temperature Operating Thermostat.
The operating thermostats monitor the
exhaust temperature. Changes in the exhaust
temperature cause the operating thermostat
to turn on and off maintaining the selected
temperature.
Make sure the dryer is empty and that the
lint screen is clean.
Close the dryer door and turn the dryer on.
The operating thermostats should cycle
off between 150º F and 155º F measured
at the blower housing. If the operating
thermostat is open below this temperature,
replace the thermostat. If the operating
thermostat does not open at the described
temperature, replace the thermostat.
Hold a thermometer capable of reading from
32º C to 82ºC (90º to 180º F) in the center
of the exhaust outlet. Measure the exhaust
temperatures with the heater on and off.
The correct exhaust cut-off temperatures for
the various settings are shown in the next
column for either single or stack dryers.
If the exhaust temperature is not reached,
replace the operating thermostat.
NOTE: High temp operating thermostats on
electric and gas stack dryers are non-bias
thermostats.
