Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.
Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
Turn off gas supply to dryer.
Remove four wire connectors from the
terminals of the operating thermostat and
bias heater.
Remove the high temp operating thermostat
(See page 4-28).
Set ohmmeter to the R X 1 scale.
Set digital ohmmeters to lowest scale.
To test the operating thermostat at room
temperature, place the probes on the
terminals with the red and black wires.
The meter should indicate continuity (0 Ω).
This is because this thermostat is normally
closed and will open at temperatures above
150° F
To test the thermostat heater, remove the
two violet wires from the heater terminals.
Set ohmmeter to the R X 100 scale.
Place the probes on the terminals. The
meter should indicate 3500Ω.
