T200 User's Manual SECTION 7: WINDRIVE
PAGE 7-6
7.1 Introduction
Two user interface options are available:
a.) Graphical User Interface, WinDrive System.
b.) Hand Held Terminal. This is described in Section 8.
The WinDrive Graphical User Interface (GUI) is a standard windows based product used with MOOGs T200 Servo-
Drive. WinDrive is used as a tool for the user friendly configuring, tuning and monitoring of a T200.
7.2 WinDrive Software Set-up
7.2.1 System Requirements
Minimum PC requirement 486 DX/2-66 processor,
8Mb RAM,
6Mb free on hard disk.
Operating System - Windows 3.1 or 3.11 (with MS-DOS version 3.1 or later),
Windows 95 or Windows NT (version 4.0 or later).
Screens sizes to fit - 640x480 display,
A VGA resolution video adapter.
7.2.2 Installation
To Install WinDrive, run the setup program on the distribution disks. This can be done using File Manager or Explorer,
by double clicking on the setup executable, or by selecting Run from the File menu. For example, if the distribution
disk is in drive A, then select/run the file A:\setup.exe. All other Windows programs should be closed when installing
WinDrive, because the installation program needs to change certain Windows configuration files.
The installation program indicates the progress of the installation to the user, and allows for various installation options:
The default target directory for WinDrive is C:\WINDRIVE. This directory can be modified if required.
If any files in the target directory have the same name as those being taken from the distribution disk, the user is
prompted to overwrite or cancel the copying of that file.
When the installation is complete, a new program group (MOOG WinDrive) will be created. The group will contain
the WinDrive program (i.e. WINDRIVE.EXE), the WinDrive Help File (WINDRIVE.HLP), a Text File
(README.TXT). For Windows 3.11, an uninstall utility is also placed in the group. Additional files are installed
which are not listed in the group. The names and purpose of these files are listed in this help. The group will be added
to the program task bar under Windows 95/NT, or will be added as a group icon under Windows 3.1.
NOTE: The Hand-Held terminal device uses the same RS232 link to the T200 as
the PC. The drive cannot communicate via both interfaces (PC and Hand Held
Terminal) at the same time.
