10.5.3 Warning Type: U3 (Power Amplifier Warning) on 7-Segment Display
The U3 warning is displayed when the power amplifier internal heatsink temperature comes within about 10° C of its
fault temperature. The warning may only signify that the T200 is being used close to its thermal limits. The T200 can
generate torque in the motor when U3 is present.
Table 16: Causes of U3 on 7-Segment Display
Cause Check/[Correction]
Ambient
Temperature Too
High
The T200 is rated for a maximum ambient temperature of 55° C. The ambient temperature
may exceed that in certain cases. Measure the ambient temperature in the T200 cabinet.
[Provide improved outside air circulation in the cabinet.]
Heatsink Fan Failure
One or more of the integral fans has failed. If possible to do safely, check that these fans
are circulating air.
[If internal cooling fans have failed, return the unit to Moog.]
Excessive Static
Load
The machine bearings or other parts may have become seized or severely worn. This can
cause extra friction or load torques.
[Check the freedom of rotation of the load, including bearing wearing and load alignment.]
Movement Duty
Cycle Excessive
The acceleration and deceleration of the movement, as well as the frequency of movement
may be excessive for the T200.
[Decrease the duty cycle, by reduction of the acceleration and deceleration, and/or the
frequency of the movement.]
T200 Undersized
The T200 is not rated to handle the current duty cycle required by the application. Use the
“?LMR” Hand Held terminal command to measure the motor phase r.m.s. current. Check if
this value is greater than or above the rating of the T200.
[Install a T200 with a high current rating if this is available.]
