SECTION 3: WIRING AND INSTALLATION T200 User's Manual
PAGE 3-7
This section covers the installation, wiring and cabling of the Moog T200 Servo-drive series. A pictorial diagram of a
single-axis system, with typical components included, is shown in Figure 3.1. Users are directed to read Section 2,
Safety Instructions, before proceeding with wiring and installation.
3.1 System Components
The following components are required to build a Moog brushless motor velocity or torque digital control system (refer
to Figure 3.1). Section 6, Functional Overview of the T200, provides a more thorough description of the operation of
the T200. All components besides the T200, EMC-Brackets, G4XX motor, motor and other accessory cabling, and the
Hand Held Terminal are supplied by the user.
All T200 models encorporate internal overload protection for the motor load and are not required to be used with
external or remote overload protection. Details of this protection are given in Section 6 of this manual. The associated
software commands are given in Sections 7 and 8.
3.1.1 a.c. Mains Power Interface
The T200-310/410/510 may be connected in either single-phase or three-phase mode. The T200 a.c. mains input power
ratings are given in Table 3.1, for single phase and three-phase mode.
The T200-310/410/510 may be connected directly to single phase a.c. mains supply networks. Note, however, that it
operates at lower input power ratings, when coupled to single-phase a.c. mains.
In three-phase mode, where the T200 is capable of higher input power, a user supplied step-down transformer is usually
required, to drop the a.c. mains voltage to 230Va.c.. This transformer may also provide electrical isolation of the T200
from the neutral point of the three phase mains, as well as limit the inrush current from the mains on power-on.
- This equipment must be permanently and reliably connected to Earth and all
conductive parts in the IP54 rated enclosure in which the T200 Series Servo-drive is installed
must be reliably connected to Protective Earth. A Protective Earth connection must come
directly from an approved a.c. mains network. Stranded copper -wire, is recommended to carry
the earth.
FAILURE TO PROVIDE AN ADEQUATE EARTH MAY CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL
INJURY AND EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION.
WARNING – You must disconnect the T200 Servo-drive from all voltage supplies
(230 Va.c., 120 Va.c., 24 Vd.c.) before servicing.
