15 Pick up the take-up spool and the ribbon core.
• Push the notched end of the cardboard core over the take-up spool.
Align the notch and tab, then push the core into place.
16 Pull the ribbon leader toward you until its entire length is exposed.
17 Hold the take-up spool over the encoder with the wall to the right.
• Bring the ribbon leader under the take-up spool and wrap it around
the take-up spool as shown.
18 Tape the end of the ribbon leader to the core on the take-up spool with
the piece of tape you saved in step 9. Make sure that the leader edge is
not taped crookedly onto the core.
