Chapter 3: Making connections
This chapter will guide you on installing peripheral devices to maximize the use of your
notebook. It covers the following sections:
Connecting External Display Devices
Connecting USB Devices
Connecting Headphones
Connecting External Microphone
Connecting external display devices
You can connect your notebook to other display devices, such as a projector or an-
other display monitor.
Your notebook is equipped with a mini DisplayPort which provides digital video
signals.
The DisplayPort cable is not included in the package. It is sold separately or
it may come with your external display device.
The Cirrus LT Plus is designed to support both passive and active mini DP
to DVI adapters. The Cirrus LT Plus is compatible with most new adapters
but there are a few older adapters that will not work. NCS sells a variety of
adapters for most modern LCDs out in the market today, i.e. Mini DP to DP,
Mini DP to DVI, Mini DP to VGA, etc. You may purchase these mini DP
adapters from NCS to ensure complete compatibility for your Cirrus LT
Plus. Additionally, due to the nature of converting mini DP to VGA, all of
these adapters are considered active adapters.
