Cirrus LT Plus User Manual v1.2 - Chapter 4
How the Cirrus LT Plus power management modes are all re-
lated
No matter how you customize the Cirrus LT Plus’ Power Management Modes
via the OnScreen Menu Timeout and the Teradici OSD Timeout, the Cirrus LT
Plus follows a pre-determined ‘chain of events’ in certain situations. Familiar-
izing yourself with these ‘chain of events’ can help you keep the Cirrus LT Plus
Power Management Modes at their optimal settings.
Chain of events
1. After a certain amount of user inactivity the LCD will turn off to conserve
power. This is controlled via the OnScreen Menu Timeout AND/OR the
Teradici OSD Timeout.
If the OSM ‘Menu Display Timeout’ Menu and the Teradici ‘OSM Screen
Saver Timeout’ Menu are set to different intervals, the Cirrus LT Plus will
automatically use the lowest selected interval.
2. Next, if the Low Power modes are enabled, the Sleep mode will activate
after the duration specified.
3. Auto Power Off is the lowest setting available. When Auto Power Off is
configured, the machine will shut off completely after the duration of
this setting has elapsed. However, this duration doesn’t start until after
the machine has entered a lower power mode/gone to sleep. If Wake-on-
LAN is also enabled, it will draw some power to keep the Ethernet port
active. In this Wake-on-LAN mode the Power LED will be solid amber,
otherwise all LEDs will be off.
Teradici has an auto-power off function of their own. It cannot be controlled
in the local firmware options, but can be set in both their management
console and their web portal for clients. This overrides all other settings - if
it’s set to 60 seconds, the device will turn off in 60 seconds after inactivity
regardless of other settings in place.
