3.4 Signal Explanations
3.4.1 Command Bit
(1) Start (Command 0/1: 0bit)
This signal starts the positioning operation. While online, motor control signals are output when this bit
is switched on (leading edge) if the STOP command is off and the external terminal block STOP is on.
(2) Stop (Command 0/1: 1bit)
This signal stops the positioning operation. When this bit switches on, positioning stops and motor
control signal outputs switch off.
(3) Current Position Preset (Command 0/1: 2bit)
When this bit is switched on (leading edge) with the current position preset function enabled by the
sequence format, a current position preset operation is performed. This signal is also enabled in the
Test Run mode.
(4) Forward (Advance) JOG (Command 0/1: 3bit)
This is the JOG signal for "forward" or "advance" motion.
While online, the "forward" motor control signal is output when this bit is switched on. This bit is
ignored during positioning operations.
(5) Reverse (Retract) JOG (Command 0/1: 4bit)
This is the JOG signal for "reverse" or "retract" motion. While online, the "reverse" motor control
signal is output when this bit is switched on. This bit is ignored during positioning operations.
(6) Mode Lock (Command0: 5bit)
This signal locks the operation mode in the RUN mode.
Mode changes are disabled if this bit is switched on while in the RUN mode. Although operation is
not affected if this bit is switched on while in any mode other than the RUN mode, a mode lock is
established the next time the RUN mode is selected.
(7) Limit Switch Output Enable (Command 1: 5bit)
While online, a limit switch output is performed when this bit is switched on. The limit switch output
goes off when this bit is switched off. This bit is unrelated to positioning control.
(8) Error Reset (Command 1: 6bit)
An error status (operation error signals, and upper limit over-travel, lower limit over-travel, sensor
error, excessive correction amount, excessive current position change, and error detection error
codes) is cleared if this bit is switched on after eliminating the error cause.
Error codes are constantly cleared while this bit is on.
(9) PLC Ready (Command 1: 7bit)
The VS-212DN status (online/offline) is set to "online" when this bit is switched on. In the sequence
mode, this bit functions as the WRITE command for the initial settings or the parameters and program
Nos.1-8.
