5.3 Connecting External Wiring
The wiring precautions for connections between the VS-212DN and external devices, and details
regarding wiring connectors are explained in this section.
5.3.1 Wiring precautions
The following wiring precautions should be observed when connecting the VS-212DN to external
devices.
(1) The VS-212DN signal lines and the ABSOCODER sensor cable should not be bundled together
with power cables and main circuit wiring. Neighboring connections should be avoided if possible.
(2) If location near the above power lines is unavoidable, the cable duct should be separated, with
individual wiring conduits being provided.
(3) When wiring conduits are used, they should be securely grounded.
5.3.2 Connecting The External Power Supply
The VS-212DN requires a DC24V external power supply.
(1) A twisted-pair power cable should be used to prevent electromagnetic induction noise, etc.
(2) If noise is excessive, install a noise filter at the VS-212DN side.
Notes:
o The wiring between the noise filter and the VS-212DN should not be bundled with other wiring.
o The wiring between the noise filter and the VS-212DN should as short as possible.
Important
Be sure that the external power supply is DC24V (DC22.6 to 26.4V), 0.5A or higher.
