6. Remove planetary differential assembly from main
transaxle case.
7. Inspect ring and pinion gears (F) for chipped, worn,
or broken teeth. Rotate pinion shaft in transaxle
housing. Shaft should rotate smoothly. Push and pull
on pinion shaft to check for loose shaft support
bearings.
8. Inspect planetary gears (G) for chipped, worn, or
broken teeth.
9. Slide engagement dog gear off of the fork.
10. If not previously removed, remove and record
number of shims located against the cover bearing.
