2. If previously removed, reinstall the shift fork and
torsion return spring. Torque the retainer screws to
specification.
TORQUE
Shift Fork Retainer Screws:
10 ft-lb (14 Nm)
3. Install engagement dog onto shift fork and slide shim
(s) between engagement dog and gearcase cover.
4. Carefully align differential assembly with fork, shim,
and cover bearing. Rotate differential assembly until
properly seated in cover and engaged with dog gear.
NOTE
Do not strike the differential assembly to seat it in the
cover.
5. Thoroughly clean gearcase mating surfaces and be
sure alignment pins are in place.
6. Apply Crankcase Sealant (PN 2871557) to mating
surfaces.
7. Install differential cover assembly to transaxle
housing.
8. Install cover screws and torque to specification.
TORQUE
Cover Screws:
20 ft-lb (27 Nm)
9. Install solenoid return spring and solenoid with a new
O-ring.
10. Torque solenoid to specification.
TORQUE
Differential Solenoid:
27 ft-lb (37 Nm)
