Youcanusethedatabarandcontextmenu
informationyoucanusethemeasurefunctionto
measuredistancesinthechartapplication.
Youcandeterminethedistanceandbearing:
•fromyourvesseltothepositionofthecursor;
•betweentwopointsonthechart.
Measuringfromvesselpositiontocursor
Fromthechartapplication:
1.Selectthelocationonscreenthatyouwant
tomeasurethedistanceorbearingfromyour
vessel.
Thechartcontextmenuwillbedisplayed.
2.SelectMeasure.
Thefollowingwillhappen:
•Themeasuremenuwillbedisplayed.
•Alinewillbedrawnfromthecursorpositionto
thecenterofthescreen.
•Thecursorlocationwillbemovedatthecenter
ofthescreen.
•Thebearinganddistancewillbedisplayed
nexttothenewcursorlocation.
3.FromthemeasuremenuselectFromsothat
Shipisselected.
Therulerlineisre-drawnfromthecursorposition
toyourvessel.
4.Youcannowadjusttherulerpositionbymoving
thecursortothedesiredlocation.
5.Ifyouwanttherulerdisplayedafteryouhave
closedthemeasuremenu,selectRuler:sothat
Onishighlighted.
SelectingrulerwillswitchtherulerOnandOff.
6.SelectBackorOktoclosethemeasuremenu
leavingthecurrentmeasurementon-screen.
Measuringfrompointtopoint
Fromthechartapplication:
1.Selectthelocationonscreenthatyouwant
tomeasurethedistanceorbearingfromyour
vessel.
Thechartcontextmenuwillbedisplayed.
2.SelectMeasure.
Thefollowingwillhappen:
•Themeasuremenuwillbedisplayed.
•Alinewillbedrawnfromthecursorpositionto
thecenterofthescreen.
•Thecursorlocationwillbemovedatthecenter
ofthescreen.
•Thebearinganddistancewillbedisplayed
nexttothenewcursorlocation.
3.SelectFromsothatCursorisselected.
SelectingmeasurefromwillswitchbetweenShip
andCursor.
4.Youcannowadjusttheendpointbymovingthe
cursortothedesiredlocation.
5.YoucanalsoSwapDirectionoftherulersothat
thebearingbecomesthebearingfromendpoint
tostartpoint.
6.Ifyouwanttherulerdisplayedafteryouhave
closedthemeasuremenu,selectRulersothat
Onishighlighted.
SelectingdisplayrulerwillswitchtherulerOn
andOff.
7.SelectBackorOktoexitthemeasuremenu
leavingthecurrentmeasurementon-screen.
Repositioningtheruler
Youcanrepositionarulerbyfollowingthesteps
below.
1.Selectthecurrentruler.
