3.4.8.2 Templates
To ease the creation of new certificates, you can use "Templates" to prepopulate the
input fields regarding the "Distinguished Name (DN)" and the "Subject Alternative
Name (SAN)" .
Navigate to "Cert. Management > Templates" to display the list of templates that are
currently defined on the system in the item list bar.
In the expanded view, the columns of the table display the "Name" and the settings of
the template. The buttons in the last column allow you to view and adjust the settings
for an existing template, create a new template based on a copy of an existing tem-
plate or delete a template from the system.
For further information, see Chapter 3.2, "Icons and Buttons", on page 21.
Creating a Template

2.
Click the plus button
in the item list header.
3. Specify a "Name" for the template. This name is displayed in the list of available
templates and when creating certificates.

"Country (C)" - the two-letter code denoting the country
"State (ST)" - the name of the state
"Location (L)" - the name of the city
"Organization (O)" - the name of the organization
"Organizational Unit (OU)" - the name of the unit within the organization
5. Optional: Under "Subject Alternate Names" , add alternative names by entering the
appropriate "Value" , selecting the "Type" (DNS, Email, DirName, URI or IPv4
address) and clicking "Add" . Repeat this process for as many subject alternate
names as you desire to configure. You can edit or delete each single entry in the
list by clicking the appropriate button next to an entry. For further information, see
Chapter 3.2, "Icons and Buttons", on page 21.
Note: If you edit a subject alternate name, a check mark appears on the right of
the entry. You have to click the check mark before being able to save the settings
of the template.
