5. Optional: Select "Show New Password" to verify the new password.
6. Click "Select" to choose a file from the local disk. The imported file can contain:
● a single public certificate (self-signed or signed by a known or unknown CA),
● a single public certificate with a corresponding private key,
● a public certificate with public certificates of the parent CAs (a CA chain) or
● a public certificate with a corresponding private key and a CA chain.
7. Click "Import" to upload the certificate or the CA.
If you import a CA chain with certificates that are unknown to the CA store, the certifi-
cates are imported and shown in the tree but some actions cannot be performed
because the private key is not available then.
4.10.3 Replacing a Certificate
1. Navigate to "Cert. Management > Certificates" .
2.
Expand the view of the "Certificates" list by clicking
next to the search field at the
top of the item list bar.
3.
Click the (Replace) button behind the certificate or CA for which you desire to
upload a new public certificate with new signatures from the authorities.
4. If you desire to upload a PKCS 12 file, enter a "Password" which is then used to
decrypt the file. For PEM and CRT files the password is optional. It is used to
decrypt the private key (if one is included).
5. Optional: Select "Show Password" to verify the new password.
7. Click "Import" to upload and replace the existing certificate or CA.
The import fails if a private key is uploaded. Also, uploading a public certificate that
does not match the private key, may make the CA certificate unusable.
Importing a new public certificate after signing the certificate signing request with an
external CA will renew the certificate. If the CA chain is uploaded as well or already
known, the certificate will be moved in the tree of CAs.
