6. Define the "Gateway" for this route.
Traffic from the source zone to the destination network is routed via this gateway
(rather than the standard gateway).
7. Click "Create" to add the new route to the list of available static routes.
8.
Click "
Activate" in the toolbar at the top of the desktop to apply your configura-
tion changes.
For more information, see "Static Routes Settings" on page 57. To influence traffic
between zones, create a firewall rule as described under Chapter 3.3, "Firewall Rule
Settings", on page 22.
4.4 Using NAT Rules
This example shows two ways of using NAT rules.
4.4.1 Destination NAT
Use destination NAT to change the destination IP address of a packet. With the follow-
ing configuration, all TCP packets with the source IP address 192.168.1.10 which are
going to 172.30.1.37 are sent to the new destination 192.168.1.1.

4.4.2 Source NETMAP
Use source NETMAP to change the source IP address of an entire subnet. With the
following configuration, all traffic with a source IP address in subnet 192.168.0.0/24
receives a new source IP address in subnet 192.168.72.0/24 (for example: source IP
address 192.168.0.33 becomes 192.168.72.33).

4.5 Setting Up a Syslog Server
gateprotect Firewall can be used to configure multiple remote syslog servers to forward
log messages generated by different message sources based on the level of severity.
The following example shows how to set up a new remote syslog server.
